What this site covers

The La Palma Record examines five City Hall issues identified through public records, litigation, financial reports and campaign filings. It is not intended as a comprehensive history of every City program, decision or accomplishment.

About the Author

Compiled by Robert Carruth, a La Palma homeowner since 1992 and a member of the Citizen Committee on La Palma's Sustainability and Future. The author opposed Measure W in 2024. That viewpoint does not change this site's sourcing standard: factual assertions are tied to records readers can inspect; allegations in unresolved matters are identified as allegations; analysis is distinguished from documented fact; and documented corrections are welcome.

Several primary documents cited throughout this record, including consultant records, campaign finance filings, and sign-ordinance correspondence were obtained via California Public Records Act requests filed by the author.

This site presents what the public record shows. It is not an official City of La Palma publication, and it is not affiliated with the City of La Palma or lapalmaca.gov.

Comments, corrections, and documented challenges to the record are welcome. Anonymous threats or abusive messages will not receive a response.
